Kathe Kruse Toys and Dolls - a German Legend

The Kathe Kruse Doll Studio is the oldest German doll company that is still existing and working in the traditional way. Handwork, simplicity of design, integrity, and an aversion to gimmicks and fads are still very much a part of how the dolls are made. Each doll and item of doll clothing is made by hand and takes from 16 to 36 hours to make. During that time, it will pass through the hands of 8 to 10 craftspeople and artists.

Kathe Kruse use fabrics and natural materials as much as possible when making their dolls and toys. In addition to natural materials Kathe Kruse use only fabrics awarded with the Oko-Tex certificate (The Oeko-Tex system assures that textiles which have been tested successfully and awarded a certificate are free of concentrations of harmful substances which are detrimental to health). The vinyl used for Kathe Kruse dolls are without nonyphenol and phthalates - making them very safe for your child.
